Hunter: 5 Months!

Brother Bear, time is flying! You are FIVE months old today! I'm going to blink and you'll be a year old. You are the absolute sweetest, happiest, smiliest baby I have EVER met. You've never met a stranger and you are unbelievably easy-going. We love you so much, baby boy.

This month was another crazy one. You just love those ambulance rides, don't you? At the beginning of this month, you got sick. again. We did another ambulance/ER/hospital stint for bronchiolitis and rhinovirus (a common cold). After visits to a pulmonologist, you're on lots of preventative medications, inhalers and breathing treatments. We are hoping you can stay out of the hospital for good! Even with all the drama, you are still growing, growing, growing. This morning, you weighed 19.8 pounds. Goodness gracious!

You're in size 3 diapers now and your 3-6 month clothes are getting a wee bit too tight. 3-6 months pajamas have all been packed up because you were making them work. You're in mostly 6-9 month and 9 month clothes now. We have to fit so many rolls in those clothes, you know!

You just love bath time. You giggle and kick your legs and smile the entire time. I think it's your favorite part of the day and it really calms you down and gets you ready for bedtime.

We've had a time of it with sleep this month. When you got sick, you were up ALL NIGHT. No rest for the weary! Then for the past few weeks, you would wake yourself up coughing and would want to eat. It's only been the past few days you are back to a 7:30pm-6:30am (roughly) schedule. I'm hoping that continues and we are back on track to having another great sleeper.

This month, you've started blowing bubbles, "talking" lots and giggling. You want to sit up on your own so badly and I don't think it will be too long. You outgrew the bumbo with those chunky legs, so we've had to create other methods to help you sit up. You love your bug exersaucer and sitting in your highchair (no food yet!). You love chewing on your fingers and your Sophie and grabbing my hair and jewelry. You also love brother's Bevo when he lets you borrow it.

You've been out of school most of this month, but have been doing good since being back. We're trying it out again. If you get sick again, we will go back to the drawing board about school. We really hope we don't have to go there!

Can we talk for a minute about the relationship between you and Luke? I've never seen one like it. Luke absolutely ADORES you and you just look at him with so much awe and wonder. Luke has informed me that you like us, but you REALLY love him. He calls you Brother Bear and we have a fun little song we sing to you that is your absolute favorite. I am loving watching your relationship evolve. I hope you are always best friends.

Earlier this month, we got to have a little staycation at the Gaylord Texan with Nana and Papa, who were up here for business. We went to dinner, went to the water park and you got lots and lots of snuggles in between.

We followed that fun little activity by a nice stay at Medical City Dallas. Because of that, one of us stayed home with you for quite a while and the other took Luke to all of his parties and activities.

Last Thursday, we finally got out and went to the Club for all of the fun 4th of July activities. You got to stick your feet into the splash pad and hang out with Aunt Amber and Uncle Brad. You were fast asleep long before the fireworks started!

On the 4th, we drove to Belton for a family barbecue and swim party. It was a lot of fun and you got passed around and loved on the entire time. We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and swimming at home.

We love you so very much, Hunter boy. You are my sweet, sweet baby boy and each smile you flash me brings me such happiness. I am so blessed to be your mom and I am looking forward to watching you grow and change and flourish. I love you to the moon and back, brother bear!
